Internship: Visualizing impact of the Environmental and Social Safeguards Framework
Background
To achieving its goals, WWF integrates human rights into its activities, in line with its Statements of Principles on Human Rights, Gender Equality and Indigenous Peoples. WWF puts these principles in practice through the Environmental and Social Safeguards Framework (ESSF). Under this framework, our projects need to assess, minimize and address potential environmental and social impacts that may arise from WWF activities, promote human wellbeing and meaningful participation of communities in the areas where we operate. All relevant projects follow the safeguards process and report the results periodically.
What will you be doing?
As part of WWF NL’s Impact Academy team in the Conservation Department, this internship will support the following activities:
- Designing and filling a user-friendly Excel data management and Power BI visualization dashboard that enables tracking and visualizing the main social safeguards related outcomes and impact per country in the priority areas of WWF NL.
- Systematic review of E&S safeguards results and connected impact of key projects achieved in the last four years.
- Collaborating to prepare a presentation for WWF NL of the key results and lessons learned.
The intern will work under the guidance of WWF-NL's ESSF lead and in collaboration with other colleagues of the Impact Academy, WWF-NL and/or the wider WWF network.
Who are we looking for?
- Enrolled as a Master student during the duration of the internship in any of the following fields: environmental sciences, data sciences, economics of sustainability, sustainable development studies, or another related field.
- Excellent proven knowledge and skills in the use of Excel and Power BI.
- Interest / affinity with the topics of conservation and human rights.
- Fluent in English.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues in a multicultural setting.
- Proactive and solutions-oriented attitude.
- The student lives in the Netherlands and can come to WWF NL office at Zeist at least 2 days per week.
What do we offer?
- 3 months with possibility to extend to 6 months starting on October 2026.
- Students in NL receive an allowance of €550,- per month on a full-time basis.
- An office surrounded by nature in Zeist with a healthy lunch café with focus on sutainability. We’re very easy to reach by public transportation.
- Working remotely part-time is a possibility.
