Intern Science Communication
This internship focuses on communicating the importance of ecosystem services provided by wetlands (Pantanal, Chaco, Cerrado and others), as well as grasslands, savannas, and forests. These ecosystems sustain biodiversity, support livelihoods, and connect people to nature through cultural, regulating, and provisioning services.
What will you be doing?
The intern will help translate complex scientific findings into clear, engaging communication materials aimed at the general public and decision-makers. These materials will emphasize the ecological and social value of these landscapes and highlight how they connect us to the natural world.
Key activities include:
- Researching and synthesizing science-based information on ecosystem services of wetlands, grasslands, savannas, and forests.
- Developing short, visually attractive leaflets, infographics, and outreach articles for magazines and digital platforms.
- Writing popular science articles and other outreach materials that make complex research accessible and appealing.
- Supporting publication and dissemination efforts in coordination with WWF teams and partners.
- Contributing ideas for visual storytelling and creative science communication formats.
Methodology:
- Literature review and synthesis of existing scientific information.
- Interviews or coordination with WWF experts and researchers.
- Collaboration with communication and design teams to produce materials.
Who are we looking for?
- A student with a science background and a passion for science communication. Fluency in Engish and Spanish is required.
What do we offer?
- An internship of 4-6 months, starting the 1st of February (or a bit later by mutual agreement).
- Students in NL achieve an allowance of €550,- per month on a full time basis.
