Intern - Communications in Green Finance
WWF’s Green Finance work focuses on transforming financial systems to support a nature-positive and climate-resilient future. By engaging with financial institutions, investors, and businesses, we aim to redirect capital flows toward sustainable solutions and integrate biodiversity and climate considerations into financial decision-making.
Within Green Finance, WWF’s Financing Green workstream focuses on mobilizing financial flows toward nature-positive and climate-resilient solutions. Under this umbrella, WWF runs several programs, including the Dutch Fund for Climate and Development (DFCD), which supports climate-resilient projects in developing countries, and other initiatives that drive impact through green finance partnerships.
What will you be doing?
Storytelling and communication play a core role in WWF’s brand and mission. As a Communications Intern, you will support WWF-NL’s Green Finance team in creating and delivering impactful communication materials and moments that showcase our work in sustainable finance and move people into action.
Activities:
- Content Creation: Draft announcements, blogs and newsletters highlighting WWF’s Green Finance work and news from specific programmes.
- Social Media & Digital Content: Assist in managing social media channels (LinkedIn, etc.), drafting posts, and creating visuals.
- Event Support: Help organize webinars, workshops and events, including one large stakeholder event in May.
- Presentations: Support the creation of presentations, infographics, and other visual materials for internal and external use.
- Organization: Support digital organization of comms materials.
Who are we looking for?
WWF is looking for a Communications Intern passionate about nature and interested in business/finance, who wants to learn more about distilling complex topics into engaging narratives that bring about change.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Communications, Marketing, Media Studies, or related field.
- Affinity with nature, sustainability, climate adaptation, and/or green finance.
- Excellent writing and editing skills in English (Dutch is a plus).
- Creative mindset with experience in social media and basic design tools (e.g., Adobe Express, PPT).
- Experience with event organization.
- Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Comfortable working in an international, multi-stakeholder environment.
What do we offer?
- An internship from the 1st February until July 2026. The internship is 3-5 days per week of which at least one day in Dutch WWF office.
- € 550,- allowance per month, based on full time work.
- An office surrounded by nature in Zeist.
