Database support for the Environmental and Social Safeguards Framework

The World Wide Fund for Nature Netherlands (WWF-NL) is member of an international nature conservation organization (WWF) whose mission is to preserve the Earth’s most important areas and build a future in which humanity lives in harmony with nature. The organization has offices in approximately 100 countries worldwide. Our joint global strategy focuses on nature conservation, reducing threats to nature, and reducing our global footprint to a level that falls within Earth’s limits.

WWF is committed to achieving positive outcomes for both people and nature by integrating human rights into conservation. To support this, WWF has adopted Statements of Principles on Human Rights, Gender Equality and Indigenous Peoples, and implements the Environmental and Social Safeguards Framework (ESSF). The ESSF helps to manage environmental and social risks arising from WWF’s work. As part of this process, WWF offices develop and implement plans to prevent, mitigate and address potential negative impacts while promoting inclusion and community empowerment.
